Speakers and Faculty

Prof. Bhaskar Dasgupta

Professor Dasgupta is a foremost exponent on Giant cell arteritis, polymyalgia rheumatica and large vessel vasculitis and expert on vascular and MSK ultrasound.  His Fast track GCA pathway was awarded the BSR Best Practice Award. He has published over 350 original articles, including first report of interleukin-6 elevation in GCA PMR,  GiACTA trial of tocilizumab in GCA, SAPHYR trial of sarilumab in PMR, ACR EULAR PMR Classification criteria and BSR and EULAR treatment guidelines for GCA and PMR. He organizes the prestigious Southend symposia/workshops on GCA ultrasound. He has been Head of Rheumatology at Southend University Hospital and holds professorships at Queen Mary London, Essex, and Anglia Ruskin Universities. He has extensive experience in interviewing candidates and we are fortunate to have him as our faculty.

Dr Srividhya Sankaran

Srividhya Sankaran is a Consultant in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Subspecialty Training Programme Supervisor at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation trust, London. She is Foundation Training Programme Director at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Trust London.  She is a Training Programme Director for Obs & Gyn in South London and a faculty member of London Specialty School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (LSSOG).  She was previously Equality, Diversity & Inclusion lead and Lead for Maximising Training Opportunities in LSSOG.  She is currently the Chair of Subspecialty Training Committee in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).  She is also RCOG AAC Panel external assessor.  She has a long experience in training and being panellist for interviews from medical students, trainees, fellows to consultants.

Dr Suhana Ahmed

Dr Ahmed is Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist & Clinical Director at the West London NHS Trust

Dr Suman Biswas

Following completion of MBBS and MS (Ophthalmology) at JIPMER, Suman took the PLAB route in 1990. He started working in the NHS, working his way up the ladder, and passing Royal College exams like FRCS, FRCOphth and a doctoral research degree (MD). Working as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for over 15 years, he brings a wealth of experience in planning, developing and accomplishing a successful career in the United Kingdom.

Dr Gopika Sreejith

Dr Gopika Sreejith belongs to the batch of 2015 JIPMER and currently works as Trust Grade Doctor, A&E Winchester. She has special interest in Digital technology and innovation in Healthcare and has recently secured a job as Clinical research fellow, AI in clinical medicine. She has immense experience guiding IMGs to transition to UK and has been faculty in the popular Life in the UK cum PLAB workshop conducted in India
